Baliloca Security Purse Review

They get sweaty, smelly, they’re awkward, never fit properly and how secure can something be when you have to lift your shirt up and slightly pull down your pants to get any money out? If you’ve traveled to any country outside of North America, you probably know what I’m referring too, the dreaded money belt that keeps your belongings “safe” from pick-pocketers.

Baliloca has acknowledged the huge gap in the industry for secure purses to keep your valuables in, that you won’t have to worry about getting slashed off of you, and created classy and stylish purses that are secure and gorgeous. Their series of purses are comfortable, and made from real quality leather (neoprene options available). What makes them more secure then other security purses, is their unique cross-strap design. To put on a Baliloca bag, you essentially put it on over both shoulders, almost like a backpack. Watch this video to see how it is to be worn.

I brought this purse for a test ride around Toronto. I have to admit, when I first saw the bag, my initial thoughts were that it would be uncomfortable, difficult to get on, or if I sweat, it would get the purse all wet, but I was proven wrong. The bag falls well below your armpit, so you don’t have to worry about sweating on it, it also is really easy to put on once you watch the video once, and comfortable. You can hardly feel that it’s on, and since it lays so close to your body, you don’t have to live in fear of someones x-acto knife slicing through the strap and someone getting away with your valuables.

Final Verdict

I loved this purse. I had so many questions when I originally discovered it, but now that I’ve had the opportunity to test it out, it’s honestly perfect. The only thing that is sort of disappointing is that you wouldn’t really be able to fit a camera in it (unless it’s small and compact). Other than that, I really enjoy my new Baliloca shoulder bag purse. I’ve always hated how ugly and inconvenient money belts were, but sometimes you have no other choice than to wear them, so this is a great and fashionable solution!

This is awesome! I dealt with the uncomfortable money belt situation in Italy and this looks like such a great solution. I was carrying around a larger bag the whole time with my camera and small amount of money in it for the day, but I’d be willing to even go double-purse in this case 🙂

So it didn’t slide off your shoulder at all? That’s my biggest complaint about a lot of purses and why I primarily use messenger-style bags.

Hey 🙂 Nope it stays securely in place. They even promote it as something you can use while being active like biking and running (if for some reason you needed your purse while running).
