Sex and the City Hotspots – New York City

It’s was every women’s bible. A show that bled honesty and truth to the struggles of every city girl, trying to juggle and find success and love, all while sticking by their girlfriends sides. Sex and the City aired for 6 seasons and in those 6 seasons, just about every girl laughed, cried, and became a part of the fun, flirty, and sometimes depressing lives of Samantha, Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte.

Sex and the City is a show that I can still watch reruns of nonstop and never get sick of, and when I visited New York City with my Mother and sister a few years ago, it only seemed natural that we had to do the Sex and the City tour so we could visit all the iconic places that appeared in the show.

On this tour we visited:

The site of Carrie and Big’s wedding rehearsal dinner

A fancy restaurant located on Ninth Avenue, called Buddakan. The restaurant is only open for dinner, so visiting during the day time we didn’t have to awkwardly maneuver ourselves around the rich and famous who may be dining here.

Walk past Carrie’s famous brownstone stoop

Located at 64 Perry Street in Manhattan’s West Village.

Hop into the Pleasure Chest where Charlotte buys her “Rabbit”

Everyone has to remember the hilarious episode of Charlotte’s first “rabbit” that she becomes so obsessed with the girls have to give her an intervention.

Scout the bar owned by Steve and Aidan 

Actually called O’NIEALs Grand Street, this swanky bar is a perfect stop to have the ever famous cosmopolitan.

Venture into the trendy neighborhood, MePa, where the girls frequent

Have time to explore and shop around the nearby shops, and channel your inner Sex and the City character.

Pass the café where Samantha invites the girls to Abu Dhabi

Despite Charlotte’s hesitations the girls all agree to jet off to Abu Dhabi in Sex and the City 2, the movie. Drive by the cafe that this all happened in!

Get some retail therapy like Carrie & Co. at Greenwich Village boutiques

You may need to save your money if you plan on indulging in the luxuries of these shops, but there’s no harm in some window shopping!

Indulge in cupcakes like when Carrie confides in Miranda about Aidan 

Buy yourself some delicious treats at the Mongolia Bakery. The original location and the one shot in the show is located on Bleecker Street, but there are multiple locations throughout the city.

All in all, this tour was a great way to spend a day in New York City and see all Sex and the City hotspots in NYC. There’s something so fun about getting to relive some of your favourite TV shows and moments, and that’s why I’m giving you the opportunity to do just that.
