Farewell Ao Nang, Hello Bangkok

Today we slept in which was easy to do since we were lucky to have no roomies in our dorm last night. Last night in the middle of the night, Leah’s bunk bed railing fell off to the floor and woke me up in such a panic I had to ask her where we even were. You know you’ve been traveling around so much when you can’t remember where you’re sleeping.

When we woke up this morning and checked out we went out to get our final thai pancakes and fruit shakes. I had a watermelon fruit shake and mango pancake. Boy I’ll miss those delicious and cheap breakfasts.

Afterwards our shuttle we booked to the airport came and picked us up, it cost about 150 baht per person and picked us right up from our hostel (Havet House). We headed to the Krabi airport to catch our flight to Bangkok.

Upon arriving in Bangkok we arrived at the smaller airport which had a taxi system that was hectic and a long, long line. Thankfully it went pretty fast. It took over an hour to get to our hostel (Lub.d Siem Square)
because of traffic. We stayed at this hostel when we were in Bangkok and the beginning of our trip but this time we had a dorm room. Both times we stayed here we had won free stays from contests on social media, otherwise it’s a bit out of our budget.

Our dorm is great and clean. We are in a 4 bed, female dorm! The bathroom for the ladies are awesome and probably the best we’ve had yet, even better than our private rooms. They are spacious, clean, and for once we had a normal shower that was hot and had pressure! I didn’t want to get out.

After getting cleaned up we headed out for dinner at a place our hostel recommended. I ordered chick stir fry with cashew nuts which was good!

It seems like most stuff was closed up on our way home from dinner so despite the fact it is Christmas Eve we headed back to our hostel and Skyped our family. The staff at our hostel also surprised us by knocking on our door in Santa hats and delivering us little candy bags for Christmas. It was extra thoughtful and cute!

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!
