Athens, Greece

Last night we went out for our first Greek dinner. It was delicious, we shared a Greek salad and we each got chicken souvlaki. It was the best food I’ve ever had traveling I think I even liked the tomatoes and I don’t normally like tomatoes at all! The restaurant we ate at everyone was SO friendly. We finished our dinner and were just chillin’ there waiting for our food to digest and they sent us a free dessert and shots!! The shots ended up being moonshine so we gave them to the English people beside us! Everyone here is SO nice and friendly. Our hostel is also super nice, the people who work here help you out a lot. After dinner last night we went and chilled and enjoyed the scenery at our rooftop bar at our hostel. It has the best view of the Acropolis. We also met some Australian people and stayed up and talked to them for a few hours. This morning we had to be up early to take a tour of Athens. We went to the Acropolis first thing in the morning and I couldn’t believe the amount of people there. Then we took a bus to the Olympic Stadium (the first ever one), and I wanted to cry it was so amazing! Then we got back on the bus and drove around the city and saw some other important sites. Then we went to the New Acropolis Museum which was a bit long and dragged out but it was still neat to see! Afterwards we were exhausted! So we just did some souvenir shopping and got some gyro pitas and headed back to our hostel to have a power nap where we also met a girl in our room from Montreal! It was so nice to meet another Canadian. So tonight us 3 went out for dinner and I got chicken gyros and another Greek salad which I’m in love with. Then now were back at the hostel cause tomorrow we head out at 6am to go to the port to catch our ferry, so we have to try and get some sleep!! Goodnight!
