Planes, Trains & Automobiles

WOW has it been a long 2 days! On Monday we had to check out of our hotel by 12, so we checked out then just chilled by the pool of our hotel until it got close to 5, when we had to catch our ferry. We took a taxi down to the port and got on the ferry. It was an over night ferry going from Rhodes all the way to Athens. Boy was it exhausting and uncomfortable. Next time I would for sure pay that little bit extra for such a long ride and get a seat or room on the boat. We arrived in Athens at 7am, which was 2 hours after the time we were scheduled to arrive. Ferries have a major tendency to be late.

We made our way to the town centre of Athens, where we did some last minute souvenir buying and got breakfast. I hate a chocolate, banana crepe mmmm :). Then we decided to just head to the airport early. Jocelyn had to be there for 1ish and we figured it be better to sit inside an air conditioned building until then. When we got to the airport we went our separate ways, as she was flying at 2:30 to Rome and I was flying at 5pm to Madrid. I had a long day of waiting around because they didn’t let us check in till 3:30.

I made it to Madrid around 7:45pm, went and got my luggage and caught a taxi to the hotel my Mom booked for me (Hotel Axor Barajas). It is right by the airport so tomorrow I can just hop on the shuttle to the airport. Boy is it a beautiful hotel. It only cost about 80 euros a night. The lobby is decorated all modern. There is a common room on each floor with a Wii for the kids. I walked in the room and thought I had the wrong place. Its huge. I have a queen size bed, a desk, a big screen TV, a living room area with white leather furniture, a giant bathroom and shower! It’s incredible I would defiantly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a place to stay by the airport!! Anyways, I was going to go out tonight but can’t get a hold of my friends. But since my room is awesome I think I may enjoy the time to myself and enjoy my room!!
