Traveling with less has always been a big priority of mine. I don’t even own a suitcase, and any chance I can to pack carry-on only, I jump at it. I hate lugging around too much luggage, or having to wait in check-in lines just to drop off my bag. On top of that, so many destinations make it challenging to travel with a ton of stuff – the tuk tuks in Asia, the cobblestones in Europe, the list goes on.
Since I have such an obsession with traveling light, this means I’m always looking for versatile clothing items that can go with anything I pack. Recently I discovered Encircled, a travel clothing brand based here in Toronto. The company creates basic, versatile clothing that’s cute, and allows you to pair it with several different items. With the mission that “stylish travel clothing is possible.” I mean, coming from the girl who usually lives in Lululemons and sports bras on vacation, I’m definitely down for versatile items where I can still look cute in that are just as comfy!
Encircled’s clothing is made in Canada, is 100% sweatshop free, and they use fabrics that are good for the earth. They don’t just make super cute clothes, but it’s travel-friendly, and you can feel good about purchasing and wearing it.
Encircled is a Certified B Corporation which means that they use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. In order to become certified, they had to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. There are only 2,200 companies that hold this certification, and it’s always nice as a consumer to have reassurance that the company you’re spending money with is doing good in this world.
The Essential Tank Top
Recently I tested out the Essential Tank Top, a basic tank that comes in a variety of colours and is perfect to add to any wardrobe. The top has a high-low hem that allows for you to easily tuck it in, or wear with leggings. The material is breathable, made with an eco-friendly bamboo blend material, and it’s incredibly soft and comfortable.
What I loved about this tank is that I could wear it in a variety of different ways. I paired it with denim shorts, and tucked it in. I wore it loose with a pair of leggings, feeling confident because the length was long, and wore it tucked into a high-waisted skirt, paired with heels to dress it up. Although not pictured, I also loved twisting the extra fabric into a knot at the front creating a crop top. Seriously, there are so many ways you can wear this simple tank!
I can’t wait to bring this tank on my next trip and to add more basic, but beautiful pieces of clothing from Encircled into my regular travel wardrobe. And SURPRISE! You can win one of these tanks in your favourite colour. I’m giving one away! Enter the contest below but note that this contest is only open to those that live in the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec). Good luck!
