Over the years I’ve become significantly good at packing light, I’m always looking for the best ways to save space, and I try to make an effort as much as I can to be environmentally conscious, so when I saw the PowerPere Collapsible Water Bottle, I knew I had to test it out. Not only is it environmentally friendly, but also collapses, saving room in my backpack for more important things (like clothes, and more clothes, obviously).
My first impression of the bottle was how small it was. With it all folded up in the package, it was hard to believe a good quality water bottle would be inside, but this bottle really proved me wrong. This 500 ml water bottle is not only collapsible, but it also can hold both hot and cold liquids, and can even double as a cold/hot press if you find yourself in need (which is awesome for travellers and adventurers).
The bottle only came in black up until the other day when they released a clear/white and pink bottle too. The lid is leakproof and is an easy to flip-open cap, making it quick and convenient to take a sip and hydrate yourself in just about any situation. The actual body of the bottle is flimsy, which is to be expected from a collapsible water bottle, but despite the fact that it takes some getting used to not having a harder plastic bottle, the body of the silicone bottle is actually unbreakable! I used to use one of these crappy foldable water when I traveled because it was the only thing I could find that saved space, so as soon as I saw this better quality bottle, that was made out of high quality silicone, I was eager to test it out.
What Makes It Great?
- BPA free
- Odor free (don’t you hate when you drink juice from a bottle then all your water tastes like that juice forever?)
- Unbreakable and leakproof
- Space saver, and includes a silicone tie to keep it folded up
- Multi-purpose (it can be used as a hot or cold press too)
- Dishwasher, freezer and microwave safe
- Comes with a hook to attach to your backpack (or just about anywhere)
Overall I thought this bottle was great. If I had one complaint, it would just be to make it available in different sizes, so those that go through water quickly could have the option to have a collapsible water bottle that held more than 500 ml. I will definitely be taking this bottle on adventures with me in Toronto, and also when I visit countries with safe drinking water when I travel! Thanks PowerPere for letting me test it out.
